The Gambling Indaba Conference and Expo will be held at Johannesburg’s Emperor’s Palace from Sunday, July 16th to Friday, July 21st. The Indaba will run for the first three days of the conference, while the second part incorporates Totally Gaming Academy’s Slot Summit.
The Gambling Indaba is considered Africa’s top industry gathering, providing an exhibition for Africa’s operators, regulators, manufacturers, auditors and other stakeholders to explore the latest innovations in gaming. The conference creates what the organizers hope to be a neutral environment for operators and regulators, to allow them to exchange ideas and help shape the industry’s future.
One of the supporters of the Gambling Indaba Conference is Clarion Gaming. The group’s Managing Director, Kate Chambers said that one of the reasons that Clarion supports the conference is that both entities hold the same values. “It is fundamentally committed to the business community of African gaming and recognizes the importance of giving a platform to attendees to help shape the future of the industry via a well-researched and provocative agenda program,” she said.
This is the third year that the Gambling Indaba will be held, and this year’s conference promises to attract an even larger group of media supporters of top African associations. These include the Gaming Regulators Africa Forum (GRAF), as well as the South African Bookmakers Association (SABA) and the Federated Hospitality Association of South Africa (FEDHASA).
“We are delighted to see support for Gambling Indaba from industry leading lights such as Aruze Gaming, Gaming Laboratories Africa and NOVOMATIC Africa, to name just a few suppliers on show, not to mention influential bodies such as the National Gambling Board, National Lotteries Commission and South African Responsible Gambling Foundation,” said Clarion Gaming’s Kate Chambers.
The second part of the conference, the Totally Gaming Slot Academy, takes place from Wednesday 19th to Friday July 21st. This is a training course for gaming managers to teach them, among other things, the ability to enhance the player’s experience through a top gaming environment, to create floor management plans that can be implemented into existing floors, and to learn mathematical slot machine knowledge to understand how slot machines operate. Attendees receivea a certificate from the University of Nevada Reno that counts towards their Gaming Management Program. In the past, groups such as Caesars, Genting Casino, Peermont and other gambling operators have sent their personnel to attend this training program.
