It took less than R10 to change the life and fortunes of a Gaunteng family recently, when the mother purchased a Daily LOTTO jackpot ticket. The 52 year old used the Quick Pick selection to choose the winning numbers: 16, 24, 25, 27 and 33 in the March 30th, 2021 draw and walked away with a R500,000 prize!
Emotional and overwhelmed, the woman headed to the National Lottery head office in Sandton recently to claim her prize and spoke about how she guarded her winning ticket in her purse to keep it safe until she found the opportunity to come and claim the money.
“I look after my elderly mother who is not well and lately, we’ve had many visits to the hospital. I’ve decided to open a fixed account and save my winnings until early next year,” she said.
Other plans include building a double story dream home for her two daughters, where they can raise their own children.
“My daughter is expecting her first child and the other one has two beautiful kids,” she said. “I hope my mother also lives to see my dreams come true.”
