The Imperial Ice Stars will perform their brand-new show, Peter Pan on Ice at MonteCasino’s The Teatro in December 2019, much to the delight of South African culture geeks. The last time that the troupe visited SA was in 2017 with their Cinderella on Ice.

The latest show boasts a cast of 23 world-renowned skaters, some of them former World, European and National Championship-level medal winners. The performance promises to be electrifying and dramatic as it spins the classic tale of JM Barrie’s Peter Pan.

The magical world of Neverland, the Lost Boys, Tinkerbell the Fairy, Captain Hook and Tiger Lily come alive in this awe-aspiring show. The audience is left mesmerized thanks to the clever aerial gymnastics, LED illumination effects and beautiful costumes designed by Tony Mercer.

Since the group got together in 2004, it has performed in 27 different countries in front of 4 million people. The Imperial Ice Stars have appeared in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and the London Palladium, and are proud to add MonteCasino’s The Teatro to its list.

The Gauteng-based venue is home some of the best musical, drama, dance and theater production in South Africa. The theater can seat 1,870 people and was built at a cost of R100 million by Tsogo Sun Gaming.

Since The Teatro opened in 2007 it has hosted some of the most famous shows in the world, including The Phantom of the Opera, Lord of the Dance, Jesus Christ Superstar, Mamma Mia!, Riverdance and Chicago – the Musical. Performers who have used the stage include Chris De Burgh, Janet Jackson, John Cleese and Joan Armatrading.

A world-class show goes hand in hand with premier entertainment. Visitors to MonteCasino can enjoy top class dining options before or after the show, as well as 24/7 gaming on the casino floor. The casino offers nearly 2,000 slot machines and 70 table games, from American Roulette to blackjack.
