Montecasino to Host New 1950s Forever Plaid Musical

Gauteng’s favorite gambling and entertainment destination, MonteCasino, is pleased to host a brand new musical this month. Forever Plaid, by Stuart Ross, is a 1950s musical extravaganza, starring local talent at its finest.

Find out why the Fifties was considered the favorite decade of many, thanks to the toe-tapping, nostalgic tunes that burst out on the stage of Forever Plaid. The audience will be treated to songs such as Day-O, Love is a Many Splendored Thing, Heart and Soul and Catch a Falling Star.

Forever Plaid follows the story of two young male singers, Jinx, Sparky, Francis and Smudge, who land a gig signing at an airport bar in the Sixties. An accident throws them into time limbo and gives them a chance to fulfill their dreams one decade earlier.

“We are thrilled to help four genuinely nice guys bring a little happiness and harmony to a world that’s full of discord, mean reality shows, and sensationalistic news,” said a spokesperson for the Pieter Toerien’s Montecasino Theater. “We have assembled four golden-voiced, all-South African cast members to bring to life this goofy story and make audiences relive the golden era of this timeless music.”

The musical stars Tiaan Rautenbach, Yamikani Mahaka-Phiri, Danny Meaker and Musanete Sakupwanya as the cast that makes up the four young singers. All of them have substantial experience on South African stages in productions such as The Color Purple, Calling us Home and more.

The show will run at Pieter Toeriens’ Montecasino Theater from October 10th until November 3rd and tickets are available through Computicket.

Montecasino’s stages are a drawcard for locals and visitors looking for the ultimate entertainment experience.
