Win More Money with Modified South African Lotto Games

At the beginning of the month North Gauteng High Court confirmed that Ithuba is a rightful holder of the National Lottery license and now the company is making the changes to the Lotto and Loto Plus games which will bring about more excitement.

The latest news we could learn that the Lotto game has undergone exciting changes which will be appreciated by players as they offer more winning chances and higher jackpots.

Research conducted recently by Ithuba, the National Lottery operator, has shown that the majority of Lotto players in South Africa want to win more for matching at least 3 numbers and in jackpots, so in the future the Lotto game will offer more money in the allocations for the jackpots. These changes will effect the fixed guaranteed prize payout which will be set at R50 for those players who match three numbers. Until now, the prize was not fixed as it has been paid out from the prize pool shared by all the players who won it.

Lotto Plus has also undergone changes resulting in the jackpots in the second chance game will roll over instead of rolling down which was the case. From now on, the Lotto Plus jackpot will keep on rolling until it has been hit which may result in fairly large jackpots. Those who match 3 numbers in Lotto Plus will also be granted a fixed prize standing at R20. Besides, the QuickPick option will be introduced on the bet slip which will be modified in order to be more convenient for players.

The changes are effective from Sunday May 22 and the first mega guaranteed jackpot can be won on the Saturday 28th May draw. The cost of Lotto tickets has also changed, so instead of R3.50, you have to pay R5.00 for a combination, whereas the Lotto Plus game is available at R2.50 instead of R1.50.

The National Lottery established in 2000 is regulated by the National Lottery Commission. It is operated by Ithuba to whom the license was granted in 2015.
